Leah's Future Plans

Our oldest daughter Leah has been accepted to three universities: Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA; Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, AR; and Palm Beach Atlantic University in West Palm Beach, Florida. We're really proud of her, most of all, for her love for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She has a love for the Lord, a love for souls, and a real sense of compassion for the needy and lost.

She has a real missionary heart. Her missionary experiences in Cambodia have been further enhanced by a short-term mission to Romania two summers ago, a trip to Latin America last year, and Lord willing, another Latin American mission trip this coming spring. She needs folks to help sponsor this Latin American mission trip coming up soon. She needs $3,000 and has raised $500 so far. If you would like to help, make checks payable to PCA and please send your tax-deductible gift to:

Melanoma

In my last post I mentioned that a tumor was found on Cindy's back. The biopsy results revealed that it was a malignant melanoma. She had most of it removed in the dermatologist's office. Cindy had surgery on Friday to remove any lingering cancer. We hope and pray that they got it all. She is recuperating well from the surgery. I returned from Cambodia a day before her surgery. I am still jet-lagging. Zzzzzzzzz

Another Update On Cindy's Health

Hi everyone,
It's been a long time since we've posted on here and I'm sorry for that. Cindy went to the dermatologist today to be checked again for melanoma. They found a "mole" on her back that concerned the doctor so she removed it and sent it out for a biopsy. Also, Cindy has some "pre-cancerous" lesions on her upper cheek just under her left eye. They are going to watch that one closely. The dermatologist prescribed Carac for topical treatment.

Cindy also went to see the rheumatologist and they did a whole lot of blood work. They will have the results in about two weeks. They are checking for everything including cancer. Depending on the results, they may have Cindy do another MRI, but this time focusing on her lower spine.

Please continue to pray! Thanks and God bless!

The Latest On Cindy's Health

Cindy's meds have been reduced from nine pills daily to six pills daily. They will be doing a CT scan in the next few weeks to see what's going on inside her lungs. Also, Cindy's been having some chest pains again, so the doctor ordered a stress test. She'll be doing that in the next few days. I know, "when it rains, it pours," but as some of you know, she has two bulging discs in her lower spine. In addition, she has some muscle tissue pain in her lower back area. We do appreciate all your prayers. Please pray for the Lord's healing touch on Cindy.

Dallas Mavericks

Thanks to a very good and longtime friend, I was able to take Leah to a Dallas Mavericks game. We had a wonderful time and are very grateful for this opportunity. Maybe I'll get another chance to go and I will take Kayla next time.

The Biggest Loser

My dad warned me before he passed away in 2001, that I should really work at keeping my weight down. He died of a heart attack at the age of 62. I have not done a good job of following his advice, but now I am. I saw a book at Barnes and Noble with a workout plan and some healthy recipes. It is based on the TV show, "The Biggest Loser." I bought the book 15 days ago, and began immediately to work out. I began to do some cooking and used the recipes. 15 days later, I have lost 11 pounds. I want to encourage all of my friends to take care of themselves. God gave you one body and it is God's temple. Take care of it for the glory of God!
